The active ingredient of Proteozym, bromelain, is a genuine mixture of proteolytic enzymes from stems, stalks and unripe fruits of the pineapple plant. Bromelain exerts a fibrinolytic action by inhibiting the formation of fibrin and plasmin and a thrombolytic action by inhibiting platelet aggregation. Bromelain exerts anti-oedematous and anti-inflammatory effects by lowering the plasma kinin level and intervening in prostaglan- din synthesis. As a result, fast pain relief and rapid healing are achieved.

Uses: Inflammatory processes with oedema, acute swellings caused by operations or contused injuries, e.g. accidents, sports (postoperative and post-traumatic swollen states). Non-bacterial mucosal inflammation. To support fibrinolytic treatment.
